Ambulance driver's bus hit-and-run

A VOLUNTEER ambulance driver who caused a hit-and-run crash has been spared a driving ban - after arguing he needs his licence to take patients to appointments.

Frank Killen, 76, crashed his Ford S-Max into the back of a bus but drove off without leaving his details, a court was told.

The collision caused the bus to leak fuel, sparking a major clean-up operation in Netherton, Merseyside, in January.
