ALLEN LOSES FIGHT FOR LIFE 2 DAYS AFTER RACE

RACING chiefs will undertake a review into the circumstances of a Grand National runner's death two days on from the event at Aintree.

Celebre d'Allen was pulled up after jumping all 30 fences and required veterinary treatment when he went down on the track.

The 13-year-old chaser initially showed signs of recovery at a local stable, however he "deteriorated significantly" on Monday evening and could not be saved. "We're heartbroken to share that Celebre d'Allen has passed away," co-trainers Philip Hobbs and Johnson White said yesterday.
