Medics' 'extra pair of eyes'
ARTIFICIAL intelligence improves breast cancer detection accuracy by pinpointing suspicious areas on mammograms a human may miss.
Researchers found detection was higher when radiologists used it, compared with unaided reading.
Eye tracking data showed that they spent more time examining regions that had actual lesions when AI support was available.
