US leader turns to Pope for help and eyes trade deals
A PHONE call between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin ended with the US leader saying Ukraine peace talks would begin “immediately” — but the claim was not mentioned by the Russian despot.
Following a high-stakes two-hour conversation, the US president gave a wildly different version of events than his Moscow counterpart, and appeared to accept the Pope’s offer of the Vatican as a venue for peace talks.
