7 hotel protesters to face trial for violent disorder

SEVEN men accused of violent disorder during demonstrations at the Epping hotel housing asylum seekers will face trial next year.
Phillip Curson, 52, Shaun Thompson, 37, Lee Gower, 43, Keith Silk, 33, Charlie Land, 23, Jonathan Glover, 47, and Aaron Elles, 28, appeared before Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday.
All seven deny violent disorder and other charges relating to the Essex town’s Bell Hotel, on July 17.
The judge, Jamie Sawyer, set two trial dates due to the number of defendants.
