Ex-Bond girl shares concerns for series

- By Frances Millar

'007 just won't be British any more'

JAMES Bond star Valerie Leon has voiced concerns the spy franchise will lose its British identity following a new deal with Amazon.

The actress, 81, was a "Bond girl" in the films The Spy Who Loved Me and Never Say Never Again alongside Sir Roger Moore and Sir Sean Connery.

Yesterday, she told ITV's Good Morning Britain: "The Bond franchise was very British and it won't be anymore.

"Obviously, if they make films, they won't go into the cinema... everything is so changed now, it just won't be the same." Eon Productions, run by Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli who have produced the series since Albert Broccoli's 1996 death - are set to remain co-owners with Washington-based Amazon MGM Studios, which has London offices.
