Wat-er way to enjoy popular canalside pub

It’s a serene scene often found along Britain’s tranquil canals.

One such spot is in the picturesque village of Audlem where you'll find the famed Shroppie Fly pub, nestled beside the Shropshire Union Canal.

This charming pub enjoys a unique setting and is deeply rooted in the canal’s history.

As a long-standing hub for boaters and enthusiasts, its reputation is well known in the canal community and beyond.

Step inside, and you're immediately immersed in a treasure trove of canal memorabilia none more eye-catching than the pub's bar itself, fashioned from half of a vintage narrowboat, the Shroppie Fly.

The boat was installed at the bar back in the 1970s.

The pub’s name is a tribute to the historic ‘fly’ boats that plied this stretch of water in the 19th and early 20th centuries, offering an ‘express’ service along the waterways.
