Jack back early on in push for promotion

ALEX winger Jack Lankester is on track to play a part in Crewe's latest push for promotion from the first few weeks of the 2025/26 campaign.

The 25-year-old was in fine form for the Railwaymen last term until his season was cut short by a knee injury in the clash against Bradford City in April.

Lankester was reduced to a watching brief from the sidelines as Crewe's bid for a place among the play-off contenders fell short.

But the former Cambridge United man has channelled his frustrations in a positive manner via his rehabilitation and he's determined to help Lee Bell's side land a coveted promotion to League One.

"I've tried not to be too focused on that (a date for returning) because I know stuff can change and obviously I've not been able to do a lot over this time," said Lankester, whose leg brace was removed last week.
