THE new Championship season will kick off with Birmingham City against Ipswich Town in front of the live TV cameras at St Andrew's on a Friday night.

Birmingham, promoted from League One, take on Ipswich, relegated from the Premier League, on Sky Sports on August 8 (8pm), the first of six matches to be moved for coverage on the opening weekend. The three teams relegated from the top flight plus promoted trio Birmingham, Wrexham and Charlton.
