Lamps salutes family spirit in Jamie support

FRANK Lampard has hailed Coventry City's “amazing” off-field culture after seeing how the players rallied to support teammate Jamie Allen following a close family bereavement.

That presented itself very publicly during the game at Birmingham City when the players wore black T-shirts with Allen's name and number 8 on the front during the warm-up at St Andrew's. And then Josh Eccles promptly grabbed Allen's match shirt from one of the subs and held it up as he celebrated his goal in a clear message to his fellow midfielder who was likely to have been watching the televised lunchtime fixture from home.
