COVENTRY City can open up a gap at the top of the Championship based on solid foundations, according to Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman.

He believes that the Sky Blues have put themselves in pole position in the league because of their “impressive” defensive resolve.
“My concern for Coventry City, before a ball was kicked, would have probably been defensively,” said the former West Brom, Sunderland and Wolves striker.
“Maybe I didn't see solidity in the goalkeepers and the defenders last season, even though they had a brilliant time under Frank Lampard from November onwards.
