Hedda Gabler brought to life in Baxter stage production

A reworking of Henrik Ibsen's play Hedda Gabler about one of theatre's most enduring femme fatales is brought into the 21st century with the distinctively fiery title character played by Rolanda Marais at the Baxter theatre.
Hedda Gabler was performed in Afrikaans earlier this month and makes its English debut from Monday May 12 to Saturday May 24, with the same ensemble.
The cast is led by Marais, along with Afrikaans theatre blue bloods, Albert Pretorius, Martelize Kolver, Ashley de Lange, Ludwig Binge and Stian Bam with direction and translation by Christiaan Olwagen.
