No bribe, no caste, every youth got chance on merit in UP police: Amit Shah

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that Uttar Pradesh Police has not only made the recruitment process fair and merit-based, but has also set a new record by providing opportunities to the youth of every caste, district, and tehsil.

After distributing appointment letters to 60,244 newly appointed police personnel at a grand ceremony held at Defence Expo Ground, Sector 18, Vrindavan Yojana, Lucknow, the Union Minister praised UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the transparent and inclusive recruitment process.
He said that under the leadership of Yogi, UP Police has not only made the recruitment process fair and merit-based but has also set a new record by providing opportunities to the youth of every caste, district, and tehsil. “In these appointments, there was no discrimination based on slip, recommendation, and caste, but the entire process was completed transparently and based on merit.
Shah said that UP Police is the largest police force in the country, and today 60,244 youth are becoming an integral part of it. He termed this day as the most auspicious day in the life of the newly appointed personnel and said that this is a moment of pride.
He said that these include more than 12,000 daughters, seeing the happiness on their faces, he got immense relief. He said that 100 percent benefit of reserved posts for women has been ensured in UP, which is a major achievement of the Yogi government.
Discussing the changes in UP after 2017, the Union Minister said that the law and order of UP had been continuously deteriorating since independence, but after the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath in 2017, the UP Police started touching new heights. He said that Yogi has started a transformative era by taking schemes like industrial development, education, law and order, infrastructure, electricity, and tap water to the people.
