In a significant move to support distressed farmers, the Telangana government on Monday distributed compensation cheques worth ₹3.80 crore to 671 farmers who suffered crop losses across 1,521 acres due to seed failure in Wazeedu, Venkatapuram, and Kannayigudem mandals of Mulugu district.
The event was attended by State Agriculture, Marketing, Cooperation, Handlooms and Textiles Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, State Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare Minister Dhanasari Anasuya (Seethakka), Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Commission Chairman M. Kodanda Reddy, Telangana Seed Development Corporation Chairman S. Anvesh Reddy, MLA Tellam Venkata Rao, District Collector Divakar T.S., and ITDA PO Chitra Mishra among others.
