SUNDAY’S second stop with the disheartened Sanlam Cape Town Marathon potential runners was the closing day of the 25" Toyota Stellenbosch Woordfees.

Mandisi Dyantyis’s Confession’ comes out tomorrow

Having missed most of the nine-day whirlwind of drama, debates, wine tastings, dinners, art and music, we nevertheless made our way from Klapmuts to Stellenbosch Town Hall to experience the remaining Strauss & Co art auction and exhibition.

Curated by Heinrich Groenewald and Shona van der Merwe; the exhibition presented a compelling and diverse selection of both emerging talents and established artists. Among the pieces that particularly caught my attention were Ayola Goxo’s Human Condition, Chris Denovan’s Desert Dream, all works by Naledi Maifala, Mikhaila Petersen's Gift and Warren Maroon's 9 to 5 clocks. Many of these were successfully auctioned off online.
