The rise of community initiatives

IT was very heartwarming and encouraging to learn that in spite of all the gloom and doom that has come to characterise our lived experiences in this country, there are still many patriotic South Africans of all races, who love their country so much that they simply close their eyes and ears to all the negative utterances and happenings dominating discourse in the country right now.

I pat myself on the back for always making sure I read all the articles authored and sent to The Star by Douglas Gibson.

As always, he is a very sensible and intelligent person showing a lot of concern for the direction this country is headed and its future, which is why I was so happy to learn about the positive, constructive efforts some patriotic South Africans have made, to bring about admirable change in their environments, instead of being content with complaining and criticizing all the time, without knowing any initiative.
