Table View beachfront upgrades resume

THE City of Cape Town has resumed its major project to rehabilitate and revitalise the Table View beachfront, one of the city's prime tourist attractions along the Atlantic coastline.

Civil works, which include the construction of coastal walkways, new and refurbished ablution facilities and upgrades to parking areas, encountered significant delays in 2024.

The City said unfortunately, the contractor's performance did not meet expectations, which led to the termination of the contract in November 2024.

The City’s Coastal Management Branch has since developed a Project Recovery Plan, which includes the restructuring of the project to ensure a more efficient and timely delivery of the remaining works.
