THE Stormers have confirmed a new three-year commercial partnership with SportPesa, which will see the betting operator to become the franchise's official sports betting partner.

- STAFF REPORTER

The deal adds to the Stormers’ growing sponsorship portfolio and is expected to focus strongly on fan engagement, with both parties indicating that supporters will be central to the partnership.

SportPesa head of marketing Gareth Rosslee said the collaboration ties in with the company’s #MakeltCount campaign, which promotes purposeful participation and shared celebration in sport.

“We will host ticket giveaways, matchday experiences, digital competitions and exclusive opportunities to engage with Stormers players,’ Rosslee said. “Essentially, we are putting the fan first.”

Rosslee described the Stormers as one of South Africa’s most recognisable and accessible rugby brands, adding that the team plays an important unifying role within the sporting community.
