Hope fragile when tested too often

The rot within law enforcement has been festering for years and it did not start with Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi's allegations, but at least he had the courage to speak up and say it out loud.

President Cyril Ramaphosa's decision to gazette a judicial commission into criminality and political interference in policing comes far too late for many South Africans who have lost trust in the system.

To say we are tired of commissions that go nowhere is an understatement, we are just tired of waiting.
