Empowering communities: New gender-based violence ambassadors launched

THE Western Cape Department of Social Development (DSD) launched its 11th GBV Ambassador programme in Metro East, boasting 37 trained volunteers.
These volunteers will be spread across areas such as Kraaifontein, Khayelitsha, Eerste River, Mfuleni, and Somerset West, with the official launch taking place yesterday. DSD stated that the volunteers will provide information on GBV support services, refer domestic violence cases to SAPS and DSD, and some will volunteer at victim-friendly rooms.
