Domini looks set to dominate for Buick and Appleby at HQ
Cambridge News
|April 17, 2025
ANNO Domini is taken to prove a cut above his rivals in the bet365 EBF Conditions Stakes at Newmarket.
Charlie Appleby’s charge hails from a strong line, being a half brother to French 1,000 Guineas runner-up Kathmandu among five separate winners, and has already done his bit to uphold family honour.
He justified favouritism to claim cosy novice victories at Newbury and Sandown before being quietly fancied to go well in the Futurity at Doncaster.
That red-hot Group One contest proved a step too far at that point, with Anno Domini making some headway two out but then dropping back to finish fifth in testing conditions.
However, he still has an Irish 2,000 Guineas entry this term and can give Godolphin something to think about by outclassing this solid but unspectacular line-up.
Kaleido is another bred for the job, being a full-brother to multiple Group One winner Mishriff, and he can get off the mark in the Alex Scott Maiden Stakes.
