London copper edges higher on weak dollar
Business World Philippines
|November 13, 2025
Copper prices crept higher on Tuesday after the dollar slid on weak jobs data, the US moved closer to reopening government operations and top metals consumer China unveiled more measures to support growth.
-
Benchmark three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange (LME) rose 0.4% to $10,834.50 a metric ton by 1720 GMT.
LME copper has gained 23% this year, hitting a record peak of $11,200 on Oct. 29.
The dollar index weakened after a report showed that private employers cut jobs last month. A weaker dollar makes commodities priced in the US currency cheaper for buyers using other currencies.
