Arabica coffee prices fall as market awaits tariff clarity

Arabica coffee fell on Tuesday but the market continued to lack a clear overall trend as traders waited to see if the US imposes a 50% tariff on imports from Brazil.

COFFEE: Arabica coffee settled down 5.2 cents, or 1.7%, at $2.965 per pound (lb), erasing the previous session’s 1.4% gain.
Dealers said the pace of exports from Brazil has slowed as traders wait to see whether a 50% tariff on shipments to the United States will be imposed on Friday.
The US Congressional Coffee Caucus has been lobbying for coffee to be excluded from tariffs, saying that they will create challenges for the industry because there are no viable domestic substitutes.
