PNB's profit jumps 145% in Q2

State-owned Punjab National Bank (PNB) on Monday reported a 145 per cent year-on-year increase in its net profit at ₹4,303 crore for the second quarter (Q2) of 2024-25 (FY25). The net profit was ₹1,756 crore in the year-ago period.
The bank's net interest income (NII) grew 5.99 per cent Y-o-Y to ₹10,517 crore in Q2.
The gross non-performing asset (GNPA) ratio of the bank improved by 248 basis points (bps) Y-o-Y to 4.48 per cent as of September, from 6.96 per cent in the year-ago period. The net non-performing asset (NNPA) ratio increased by 101 bps Y-o-Y to 0.46 per cent in Q2, from 1.47 per cent in September 2023.
