Greenhouse, tissue culture lab to rise in Batangas

THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has begun the construction of a greenhouse facility and tissue culture laboratory in Barangay Banilad, Nasugbu, Batangas, following a simple groundbreaking ceremony to provide farmers with high-quality planting materials and boost the income of agrarian reform beneficiaries in the province.
The initiative is being implemented under the Sustainable and Resilient Agrarian Reform Communities (SuRe ARCs) Project and will benefit members of the Kamahari Agri-based Multi-Purpose Cooperative, which has 971 members, including 138 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs).
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II John Erick M. Sawal said the new facilities will help farmers grow high-value crops using modern and climate-smart farming technologies.
