DAR support boosts Quezon farmers’ climate resiliency

THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has turned over new farm machinery and equipment (FMEs) to agrarian reform beneficiaries in Quezon to promote their resiliency to climate change.

At the same time, DAR officials in the Calabarzon (Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Rizal-Quezon) inspected key rural infrastructure projects that aim to strengthen food production and improve farmers’ access to markets in the province.
Through the Climate-Resilient Farm Productivity Support Program, DAR Calabarzon awarded a four-wheel-drive tractor (4WD) with complete implements to the Umiray Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Barangay Umiray. The cooperative is composed of 1,245 farmer-members, including 375 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs).
