DERBY County fans are waiting to see how the summer unfolds as work begins for the next Championship campaign.

- By LEIGH CURTIS

Here’s the latest from my Rams notebook:

Price role clarified

Derby County's search for investment is being assisted by the man who helped with David Clowes’ takeover.

Jonathan Price is working in an advisory capacity, with Clowes open to selling up to 80 per cent of his shares.

Price owns Union Rights Management, a firm that has access to private investors across multiple markets and specialises in sales advice for sports business owners.

Rams chief executive Stephen Pearce told Radio Derby that Price has no say in club decisions, as his role is solely focused on investment.

"He has no operational or decision-making power in terms of day-to-day on the football club," said Pearce.

"Jonathan Price is just an adviser to David and there are no secrets. It's not a mystery figure.

"Jonathan works for David in terms of (being) his representative in those investment discussions."

Pearce had introduced Price to former owner Mel Morris when he was looking for investment during his reign at Pride Park Stadium.

Price, who has attended some board meetings, also helped in the deal that saw Clowes rescue the Rams from administration in the summer of 2022, earning £100,000.
