'Think of us ambulance workers before you do anything stupid!'

APPEAL AS 999 CREWS LIVE IN FEAR OF ATTACK

PARAMEDICS working for the ambulance service fear being attacked doing their jobs over the festive period.

Two out of three 999 workers raised concerns during a survey by the GMB union of more than 1,100 from NHS trusts across the UK.

The research revealed that more than 40 per cent of staff feared being physically attacked and more than half worried about verbal abuse.

It has sparked an appeal from Simon Day, a paramedic at West Midlands Ambulance Service, for people to think of ambulance workers before they do 'anything stupid.'
