RSPCA stray snakes warning

THE RSPCA says it is braced for an increase in reports about stray pet snakes this summer.

The animal charity is advising owners to be extra-vigilant in the warmer months to stop their pets escaping.
New data reveals that snake incident reports peak in July, August and September.
Last year, they totalled 383 during that period alone, an 18 per cent rise on 2023, when there were 323 incidents.
