MARION MCMULLEN finds out why Line Of Duty's Vicky McClure and Reverend & The Makers frontman Jon McClure are spreading Day Fever
-
You launched Day Fever last year with your filmmaker husband Jonny Owen, your cousin Jon, his brother Chris McClure and Sheffield businessman James O'Hara. How did you all meet?
Vicky: It was kind of Jonny really. My husband was mates with Jon and Chris and Jim through having a drink and football.
What is the vibe for the disco?
Jon: Jonny's mother got nicked by security in Cardiff for sneaking in a bottle of gin, so she went back out and stashed it in a bush and came back. This is how funny this is because we get a mad age range, from the likes of Jonny's mother down to people in their 20s.
Vicky: She didn’t get arrested. She was just told off by the bouncers.
Jon: I think that sums up the vibe. We've never had a bit of trouble. There's never been any bother. It’s a great, joyful atmosphere with little bits of mischief. You get people coming dressed up and acting daft and they all get on stage.
We're all in it together. When they meet Vicky on the stage dancing, they're buzzing, It’s a bit like a sort of big version of being in your nan’s house at a party.
Vicky: When Martin Compston (Detective Inspector Steve Arnott in Line Of Duty) came, he turned round to me and he said ‘take my phone, take my wallet, take my keys’ and I just went
