High fives for Burton Hockey Club ladies as they romp to victory but it was a very tough day for the men's teams

BURTON Hockey Club ladies’ first team's pre-match confidence was justified when they took on the fourth team of Lichfield.

They had high hopes of coming away with a win, and after taking a 1-0 lead into the break they hit four more without reply in the second half.

From the off Burton were the more dominant side, Megan Bignell in goal saw a handful of saves through the first half, but the defenders were pushing high with the majority of attacking play from Burton.

They were able to play around the Lichfield players with quick passes up the pitch.

Burton took the lead with Rachel Brown slotting one through the keeper's legs.

And they went into half time having had a good amount of chances on goal from varying players, including Alex Harrison who was covering a lot of ground.

In the second half, Burton were thankful to have a substitute this week, which meant with a bit of rotation the ladies were able to push for the full game time.
