|October 13, 2025
CRIME has fallen by 10 per cent and at least 90 people have been arrested as part of £1m worth of extra police patrols across Staffordshire.
Officers have been carrying out extra shifts across 19 different locations as part of a strategy to reduce crime and antisocial behaviour.
Since 6 May, extensive local crime data has been used to design patrol plans for officers to carry out increased visibility and engagement in the areas most affected by crime in Staffordshire.
In addition to the reduction in crime and the arrests, the extra patrols also led to:
■Knife crime reduction of 26 per cent.
■A four per cent reduction in serious violence.
At least 160 stop searches carried out.
Some 47 drug seizures and 65 vehicles seized.
It comes following a £1 million allocation to the Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime to tackle knife crime, serious violence and antisocial behaviour.
