JOHN Eustace saluted a “real team effort" as Derby County secured a hard-fought 1-0 win away against Portsmouth.

The Rams also hit the woodwork twice as Patrick Agyemang cracked a shot against a post, while Joe Ward cannoned a free-kick off the bar as they searched for a second goal to kill off a spirited Pompey.
John Mousinho's team put the Rams under pressure in the second half but at the back, Matt Clarke and Derry Murkin were excellent in particular.
Eustace had to watch the game from the stands due to a one-match touchline ban and said: “It was a hard-fought win and the lads were excellent.
“They defended really well. We could have scored a couple more goals on the transition.
“I was disappointed that when we won the ball back at times, we didn't have more quality and make the right decision.
