EAST MIDLANDS ALERT WILL BE IN PLACE UNTIL MONDAY
THE Government's Health Security Agency says a "rise in deaths" can be expected across the East Midlands after issuing a yellow cold-health alert.
The alert remains in place until midday on Monday, January 5, with the coming days expected to see temperatures drop to below zero - posing risks for those aged 65 and over or with underlying health conditions.
The region has been given a risk score of nine out of 16, with a low likelihood but a medium impact.
