Andi's back and Danny signs on for Rams as well

DERBY County completed a double swoop in the summer transfer window yesterday.

- By LEIGH CURTIS

Attacker Andi Weimann and defender Danny Batth have moved to Pride Park Stadium as free agents after both turned down the chance to stay with Blackburn Rovers.

Weimann is back with the Rams seven years after he left for Bristol City. The 33-year-old has signed a one-year deal.

He joined the Rams from Aston Villa for £2.5m in 2015 and made more than 80 appearances for the club.

Weimann scored nine goals in all competitions for Rovers last season and looks to be earmarked for a number 10 position with the Rams.

Batth also signed a one-year deal at Pride Park and he will add competition for places at centre-back, joining Curtis Nelson, Sondre Langas and Matt Clarke in the battle for a first-team spot.

He had an excellent 2024-25 campaign with Blackburn, playing 41 games in all competitions for Rovers, who missed out on the Championship play-offs at the end.

Both will be reunited with Rams head coach John Eustace, who left Blackburn in February to take charge at Pride Park.
