OHN Spiller (Letters, December 17) makes some interesting comments following Mazda's dubious claims for carbon negative engines and CO2 storage.

He wishes them luck, but I fear they'll need more than good fortune.
I share his concern about the 40 plus billion tonnes of CO2 that we are currently loading into our atmosphere every year under the bizarre misapprehension that we could do this without significant consequences.
