Thomas: Disallowed goal was probably a foul but never handball

LUKE Thomas believes he should have had a hat-trick in Bristol Rovers’ 3-2 win over Newport County on Saturday afternoon as the winger saw a goal disallowed in between his two legal strikes.
After an uneventful first half, Thomas broke the deadlock early into the second with his first of the season, seeing the ball over the line after Fabrizio Cavegn had hit the post and then forced a save.
Seconds after the restart, the Rovers forward closed down a kick from Newport goalkeeper Nik Tza-nev which saw the ball deflect towards goal. Thomas bundled the ball into the net after a sprint race with the ‘keeper, but the whistle had been blown.
