The campaign group held a 'United Against Extremism' march on Saturday, which attracted around 40 protesters.

As reported in yesterday's Post, among them was a self-proclaimed neo-Nazi who shouted 'Heil Hitler' at Jewish onlookers.

A white supremacist group called the Aryan Front had originally planned to take part but pulled out after discovering the Bristol Patriots march could contain Jews and those expressing support for Israel.

Following criticism online - including from some of its members - Bristol Patriots issued a statement of apology.

"Following Saturday's protest, I first want to say a huge thank you to the true patriots who turned up to stand with us," it said. "Your support means everything.

"I also want to offer an apology regarding some of the other groups who were invited to the march by certain individuals within our community.
