IN the moments that followed the full-time whistle at the MKM Stadium, Gerhard Struber made his way around every member of his Bristol City squad on his way over to the travelling supporters.

Having grabbed both George Tanner and Tomi Horvat around the neck in a show of affection, and after pulling Rob Atkinson in for a big handshake and hug, the Robins head coach nearly pulled Neto Borges over the perpendicular in a huge embrace. Then, stationed in front of the away end, he simply waved his fists and applauded.

The City boss who, just a week prior, had made his way around Ashton Gate almost shellshocked, was now, again, energised. Such a feeling was also clear among the players and the Robins faithful who had been on a rollercoaster of their own over the course of the last hour-and-a-half in Hull. Despite starting on the front foot, the Robins found themselves behind midway through the first half when Oli McBurnie capitalised on a sloppy piece of defending to fire under Radek Vitek. Before any thoughts of 'here we go again' could start to eat away, Atkinson had stooped low inside the area to head City level from Horvat's corner.

An equaliser was the least Struber's side deserved, and they quickly made it evident that they wanted more. Six minutes later, they were ahead as Ross McCrorie curled his third of the campaign into the top right corner. Then, shortly after the restart, Emil Riis made it three as he calmly found the back of the net after a needle-threading Scott Twine pass.
