A remarkable 97 per cent of Year 13 students at the school achieved entry to either their first or second choice of higher education or training pathway.

The success follows an impressive performance in both academic and vocational qualifications.

Among the standout achievements, 40 per cent of A-level entries were awarded top A or A* grades, while 76 per cent earned A* to B. Meanwhile, 74 per cent of CTEC and BTEC qualifications received distinction or starred distinction - the equivalent of A*/A grades.

Fifteen students achieved results equivalent to at least A/A/A.

Collegiate head Jeremy McCullough said: “We are always delighted when our collective raw results are very good but, as ever, it is the individual success stories that really demonstrate the value of the education a school has provided and it was fantastic to see so many smiling faces collecting their results this morning”

At Wellsway School and IKB Academy in Keynsham, outstanding individual successes included that of Bethany, who achieved an astonishing five A* grades in further mathematics, mathematics, biology, physics and chemistry.

Amy Chapman, director of Post 16, said: “I am extremely proud of all our students. So many have worked exceptionally hard and clearly been rewarded for their ability to adapt and maintain a sustained focus on their learning”
