City have seen their defensive injury woes worsen ahead of their trip to Middlesbrough, with Gerhard Struber confirming the Robins are set to be without George Tanner "for the next few weeks. The Robins visit the Riverside Stadium tomorrow lunchtime, when they will face Kim Hellberg’s side. Boro sit second in the Championship table, but host City off the back of a surprise home defeat to Charlton Athletic in midweek.
Struber’s Robins head to the North East having lost each of their last four matches in all competitions. Such a poor run of form has seen City slip to 12th in the second tier, with seven points now separating City and Wrexham, who occupy the final playoff place.
The latest defeat in the Robins’ losing run came at Leicester City on Tuesday night. While the 2-0 defeat at the King Power Stadium was frustrating enough in isolation, it came at a greater cost, with Tanner set for a spell out of the team, having sustained an ankle ligament tear.
