Ben Charlesworth admitted Gloucestershire are doing “things the hard way” after defeat to Hampshire means the county must take on Somerset at Taunton in today’s Metro Bank One Day Cup quarterfinal.
Gloucestershire slipped off the top of the Group A table with a five-wicket defeat to Hampshire at the Seat Unique Stadium on Tuesday, and in so doing surrendered home advantage in the knockout stages.
Fletcha Middleton top-scored for Hampshire with 92 from 95 balls, with six fours and two sixes, and he staged a crucial third-wicket partnership of 115 with Toby Albert, who made 52, as the visitors reached a victory target of 314 with eight balls to spare.
