Cricket Boorman ‘buzzing’ after guiding the Glo’sters to victory

LOUCESTERSHIRE youngster Tommy Boorman was left “buzzing” after his unbeaten 33 helped the county record a third win from three matches in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup on Sunday.
The Glo'sters chased down the Leicestershire total of 285 for seven with nine balls and three wickets to spare as Boorman made his 33 from 22 balls, and Craig Miles also finished not out with 18 from ten.
Earlier, Leicestershire’s former Gloucestershire and Australia man Peter Handscomb made 107 and Ben Cox 61 as the Foxes set a decent total. Josh Shaw finished with three for 40 for the hosts.
In reply, James Bracey (96) and Cameron Bancroft (40) put on 105 for the first wicket, and contributions all the way through the order left Boorman and Miles to see their team over the line, although Alex Green's five for 52 meant it was not totally straightforward for the home side.
Boorman, 20, told reporters: “I’m buzzing. That's three games and three wins, and I’m told that’s a position we have not been in.
“I felt nervous when I came in to bat in front of a big crowd with my mum and dad watching, but I just focused on the areas where I knew I could score boundaries and let my instincts take over.
“Batting with Craig Miles was great fun and, to still be there not out at the end was perfect.
