Cheers to a cracking year How Wallace and Gromit ruled 2025
Bristol Post
|December 31, 2025
As 2025 draws to a close tonight it could be argued that the year belonged to one iconic duo - Wallace and Gromit.
After all, The Grand Appeal and Aardman, the Bristol-based studio behind Wallace and Gromit, celebrated the 30th year of their fundraising partnership this year.
Following the hotly-anticipated feature film which aired on Christmas Day in 2024, the beloved inventor and his trusted canine companion took over not just the streets of our city, but the red carpet at one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies in the world - the Oscars.
But the award nominations, success and money didn't end there.
We're taking a look back at how the summer sculpture trail unfolded, how much money was raised for a Bristol charity, and how some massive names in the world of cinema and music got involved.
And we also look forward to see if and when we can expect the next Gromit Unleashed trail...
Gromit Unleashed 3 and the auction
From the moment the latest Gromit Unleashed sculpture trail was announced the people of Bristol - and Wallace and Gromit fans from further afield - were more than excited for a summer of sculpture hunting.
This time around, there were more than 50 sculptures to track down across an area that spanned miles and took families and explorers to all manner of attractions and destinations - from Broadmead and Cabot Circus in the centre of Bristol, to The Wave in Easter Compton, Aerospace Bristol, WWT Slimbridge in Gloucestershire, Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Noah's Ark Zoo Farm, Puxton Park, and more.
This year also saw some massive names in the world of cinema, the theme of this year's trail, design some incredible artwork and sculpture designs which adorned Wallace benches, Gromits, Feathers McGraw incarnations, and even new character Norbot the gnome.
