Athletics Holly's season isn't over yet as she aims for more progress

TEENAGER Holly Sanigar is not ready to wrap up her season quite yet but if she did the verdict would be a resounding success.

- Kevin FAHEY

The 17-year-old Bristol & West AC middle distance runner had already guaranteed that by winning the English Schools' senior girls 800m title, the biggest and best win of her young career to date.

But she wasn't content to end the summer on that high last month and has now improved her best time for the third time this season at the fifth and final British Milers Club Grand Prix meeting in Manchester last weekend.

Lining up in the B race Sanigar scorched around the two laps in a time of 2mins 08.79secs for third place.

It was her third PB of the season having opened up with 2:10.96 at the BMC PB Classic at Millfield School and then broke 2mins 10secs for the first time (2:09.43) with that brilliant victory at the English Schools Championships.
