Major changes as key coaches set to leave
St Johnstone have announced a major shake-up of Simo Valakari's backroom staff — with both long-time coach Alex Cleland and assistant manager Andy Kirk leaving the club.
Making the announcement online, Saints confirmed a restructure of the department as the club navigates the 2025/26 season outside of the Scottish Premiership for the first time in 16 years.
Alex first joined McDiarmid Park in 2009 and has been a member of the coaching staff for 16 years, helping Saints on their way to lifting the Scottish Cup in both 2014 and 2021.
