Villa star Rogers puts England glory ahead of personal achievements

Morgan Rogers admits he was “disappointed” to miss out on a starting spot in England’s World Cup opener against Croatia, but understands his role at the tournament.

The Aston Villa star was in a head-to-head battle with close friend Jude Bellingham for the No.10 shirt in boss Thomas Tuchel’s starting XI in Dallas and it was the Real Madrid man that won the contest.
Bellingham justified the decision by scoring a vital third goal in a 4-2 win, though Rogers came on and looked lively in the second half.
But he is pragmatic about the situation and is happy to contribute in any way he can.
