Utility company apologises after 'violation' of town gardens

A utility company has apologised after a group of volunteer gardeners were left angered by the state of a town centre site.
Contractors on behalf of SP Electricity North West were in St Annes recently to install a power new connection to the power network.
Their work entailed digging up the road outside an electricity substation in Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee Gardens, between St Annes Road West and the Crescent, close to the railway station, and the contractors came in for stinging criticism for how they left the site looking following their departure.
