Council 'assessing the damage' after fire rips through ex-hotel

Blackpool Council says it is assessing damage to one of its properties after a major fire tore through the former Carlton House Hotel at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to the derelict hotel, near the corner of Adelaide Street and Queen Street, shortly after 4.26pm on Saturday.
The fire service's aerial ladder platform was deployed and firefighters worked into the evening to bring the blaze under control.
