Murder and hauntings walk hand in hand down the spooky corridors of The Supernatural, echoing the clamour of red and secret deeds which cry out from the dark chasms of eternity for recognition and justice. Like characters in some old melodrama, the shades of victim and slayer are trapped before phantom footlights on a stygian stage destined to play their ghoulish games until the final curtain of eternity falls.

On such a stage in the gloomy cellar of an ancient Netherton tavern was a “Cain and Abel” slaying re-enacted again and again in the bloodstained darkness of another time.

You have printed quite a few articles in your paper about haunted places, which recall to me, my place of birth, nearly forty-seven ago. It was situated in Cradley Road, Netherton and, at one time, was an old inn. Although I am not completely sure of the date, I consider that it was built in the early 18th century.
